An appearance is scheduled on Friday at the white building. One man will do whatever is necessary to make that happen. Another will do whatever is necessary to stop it.

“We’ve got a girl. It’s complicated.” That’s all Doyle Bird knows about the job; watch over the girl for three days. Her appearance is scheduled at the white building on Friday.

Robert Piper knows much more: He knows he has three days to find the girl; knows he has to go off his medication; and knows this is his last chance.

The Bird Watcher follows these three people all bound by a single appearance scheduled in three days. Piper’s story involves the unique and brutal methods he employs to find the girl. Bird’s story involves his need to make something of a life that has been for the most part wasted, to finish this job. Abby’s story involves her being placed in an unknown situation, unaware of why she is here and what she is supposed to do. She develops a trust in Bird – he’ll get her to the white building and all will be fine.

But all is not as it seems.
